About the Saint Elizabeth First Nations, Inuit and Métis Program
About Saint Elizabeth
Saint Elizabeth is a social enterprise that has been opening the doors to new possibilities and care experiences for more than a century. As a not-for-profit charitable organization, we believe in the power of people and communities. Working together, we bring positive change to health care and the world around us.
The Saint Elizabeth Foundation is our partner in social impact. The Foundation is a separate national registered charity that works to strengthen community health care through innovative models, partnerships and leading practices. The First Nations, Inuit and Métis program is one of the ways we are making a difference. Currently we are partnering with more than 500 First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities and organizations across Canada to positively impact health care at the local level.
The First Nations, Inuit and Métis program is recognized as a leading model of collaborative partnership that supports evidence-based and culturally safe care. Our approach respects the strength and wisdom of our partners, and their unique cultures and histories. We support community-led approaches to health and wellbeing and invite participants to contribute to each stage of the process in meaningful ways.

What We Do
We provide virtual education at no cost to health care providers working in First Nation communities. Our national knowledge exchange network includes online courses, webinars, community forums and 24/7 access to peers and experts. We also partner with communities and organizations to better understand gaps and barriers to care and support improvements through action-based research.

How We Are Funded
The program is funded through charitable donations from the Saint Elizabeth Foundation. These generous financial contributions make it possible for us to offer virtual education at no cost to communities or participants.
