PERSONAL SUPPORT STAFF AND COMMUNITY CARE WORKERS

POSITION SUMMARY:
Community Care Workers
Community Care workers provide home support services for individuals and families on an ongoing basis or during periods of illness or recovery. They perform personal care duties in private residences, or provide services in an alternate care setting.
These services may include bathing, other personal care duties, cleaning, transportation, shopping, cooking, laundry, and other light duties or minor home maintenance activities. The aim of your activities will be to promote and maintain the physical, psychological and social well-being of clients.
PSW’S
This position requires a Personal Support Worker certification. As a member of the Community Care Worker team you will focus primarily on providing service to clients requiring assistance with Personal Care. These services may include bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, ambulation, feeding, assisting with medications and exercise.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A PSW Certificate - for PSWs
• A current CPR and First Aid Certificate
• Availability to work all shifts, including days, nights, evenings and weekends
• A knowledge of household management skills
• A working knowledge of assistive aids
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written) and exercise good judgment
• Ability to provide own transportation
• Additional education and/or training an asset
