SEHC staff members receive “Heroes in the Home” award
The Champlain Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), the agency responsible for coordinating the region’s in-home and in-school care for people in need, handed out ‘Heroes in the Home’ Caregiver Recognition Awards to one hundred and fifteen tireless individuals who work in partnership with the CCAC to ensure that health and home care is provided on a daily basis to loved ones with ailments.
The award ceremonies took place April 15th in Ottawa, in Cornwall on April 20th and in Pembroke on April 23rd.
According to the coordinators of the ‘Heroes in the Home’ Caregiver Recognition program, the tenacity of the human spirit was a compelling thread common to each of the winners’ stories. The winners made great personal sacrifices or even overcame their own medical challenges in order to volunteer their time to comfort friends or family members in more dire circumstances.
We would like to congratulate the ten award winners from Saint Elizabeth Health Care: Tom Truong, Trina Ryan, Betty Pranger, Ann Parizeau, Yvonne Turner, Suzanne Blondin, Audrey Watson-Hall, Ann Esford, Julie Desgroseilliers and Melissa Dow, who all received certificates of recognition from CCAC CEO Cameron Love and CCAC board members. As one of the board members stated, “To the world, you may be one person but to one person, you may be the world.” This statement aptly describes the individual dedication that our front-line workers exemplify every day at Saint Elizabeth Health Care.
Congratulations to all recipients – we are very proud of you!
