Saint Elizabeth Health Care staff show their remembrance for Canada’s Veterans

November 8th 2009

November 9, 2009 – To show their remembrance of Canada’s Veterans, Saint Elizabeth Health Care employees across the province are gathering to take a photo of staff wearing poppies at each of their offices across Ontario.

“At Saint Elizabeth Health Care, we provide health care services to many veterans in their homes and communities,” said Shirlee Sharkey, president and CEO of Saint Elizabeth Health Care. “In keeping with our vision to honour the human face of health care, Remembrance Day gives us an opportunity to honour these men and women and all they have done for Canada.”

“The Royal Canadian Legion is extremely pleased that the people of Saint Elizabeth Health Care have chosen to show their remembrance of our Canadian military people by wearing a poppy,” said Bob Butt, spokesperson for the Royal Canadian Legion. Since 1921, the Poppy has stood as a symbol of Remembrance, a visual pledge to never forget all those Canadians who have fallen in war and military operations.

Saint Elizabeth Health Care is a not-for-profit charitable organization that provides nursing, personal support and therapy services to people in their homes and communities.
