Saint Elizabeth Health Care Crisis Team recognized for excellence

Saint Elizabeth Health Care ("Saint Elizabeth") and the Crisis Workers Society of Ontario (“CWSO”) are pleased to announce that Saint Elizabeth's Community Crisis Response Team (“Team”) is the recipient of the 2010 CWSO's Award of Excellence.

The CWSO’s Award of Excellence recognizes front line workers or teams for their excellence and commitment in delivering crisis intervention services within Ontario. Considerations include the commitment to the field of crisis intervention, as well as accountability, dedication, respect for clients and peers, and excellence of care.

"The people that work in Saint Elizabeth's Crisis Team are truly remarkable. Their dedication to initiate and provide services that further the scope of crisis response has been immense.” said Amanda Conrad, Vice President of the CWSO. “The success of the program is a great example of what happens when a team of people focus their efforts to provide the best possible care to clients”

The Community Crisis Response Program has served the communities of North York and Etobicoke for over fourteen years. The Team comprises 35 crisis professionals with extensive training and experience in assisting clients manage issues with mental health and addiction, suicide/self-harm, aging and situational or life adjustment problems. Our support includes a telephone crisis line, in-person visits, risk and safety screening and planning, consultation and education, and follow-up. The Team also works with seniors and their families in dealing with mental health and cognitive difficulties. Saint Elizabeth also provides crisis services to residents in Peel Region through Peel Crisis Services
