Today almost any type of care offered in an institutional setting, short of surgery, can be provided in the home environment. Home care services may include:
- Nursing
- Personal support (i.e. assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding, etc.)
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational therapy
- Dietetics
- Social work
- Speech therapy
- Homemaking
- Caregiver respite (relief)
Home care programs can also provide linkages to other community resources such as Meals on Wheels and transportation services, etc.
