Saint Elizabeth Health Care receives nursing awards

MARKHAM, ON, May 9, 2008 – This year, the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario
(RPNAO) honours Saint Elizabeth Health Care (SEHC) with its Employer of Excellence Award 2008.

This award recognizes the employer that has demonstrated outstanding achievement in improving the utilization of Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) and creating a multidisciplinary team environment supportive of all health care workers. Saint Elizabeth Health Care is an organization that listens to its nurses and responds with innovative programs and initiatives, such as the Nursing Utilization project that develops the tools and resources required to ensure a smooth transition for RPNs taking on new client populations and new skills. RPNAO Executive Director Dianne Martin says, “Saint Elizabeth Health Care is a very worthy recipient and we hope that through this award the organization will realize the degree to which we appreciate those who value RPNs within their organization to the degree that yours does. We thank you.”

“As the #1 provider of home and community-based health care in Ontario, SEHC nurses provide
knowledgeable, expert home and community-based health care across the province in a way that is both valuable and exemplary,” says Nancy Lefebre, senior vice-president and chief clinical executive. “RPNs are an important part of our health care team and we are proud to provide a strong professional practice environment where RPNs are able to thrive and grow.”

Honorary Life Membership for her comprehensive contribution to the practical nursing profession.
