SEHC recognized for excellence in health care delivery
Toronto, ON, August 22 – Saint Elizabeth Health Care (SEHC) has successfully achieved its 4th consecutive Accreditation from the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA).
In its survey report, the CCHSA commended SEHC for its many successes, including making a significant contribution to knowledge dissemination internally, as well as nationally and internationally. SEHC’s collaborative and flexible approach to working with, listening and responding to their funding organizations and partners was also highlighted.
“Saint Elizabeth Health Care has continued to thrive in a competitive environment while, at the same time, developing planning and service partnerships with many,” states CCHSA. “This has been facilitated by the organization’s constant awareness of developing technologies and their potential applications.”
A total of ten self-assessment teams from across SEHC participated in the Accreditation process, including: Human Resources (Talent and Learning); Information Management (Operational Excellence); Leadership and Partnership (Responsibility to Lead); Environment; Palliative Care; Child and Family; Eastern Counties; Kingston; Simcoe; and HNV.
Two of the teams – Palliative Care and Child and Family – used specialized standards for their respective areas of practice, with no recommendations for improvement. This is a unique approach to evaluating internal programs and services.
The CCHSA Accreditation process is an internationally recognized vehicle through which quality in the health care industry is measured according to national standards. SEHC’s three-year accreditation is current through to 2010.
Saint Elizabeth Health Care is a Canadian not-for-profit charitable organization that shares its talent and wisdom nationally and internationally through direct care and service, consultation, and education and e-learning to support the transformation of care for families, health organizations and communities. With nearly a century of experience and a dynamic talent team of 3,700, SEHC delivers three million home care visits annually and has been recognized as both one of the 50 Best Employers and Best Workplaces in Canada.
