POSITION SUMMARY:

As an occupational therapist working in the Driver Assessment & Training Services team, you will provide professional occupational therapy to clients within a clinic or community setting by conducting physical, cognitive, psychosocial, functional driving, and vehicle access assessments. This position would be based out of the St.Catherines and Hamilton Offices

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and implement client centered, goal directed treatment programs

  • Evaluate the client’s response to treatment and make appropriate modifications in collaboration with the client and team members.

  • Supervise the administration and success of treatment plans carried out by licensed driving instructors.

  • Communicate with multiple stakeholders both internal and external, to provide driver rehabilitation and client care.

  • Maintain and report clear and accurate documentation on all aspects of client care.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is required.

  • A  Masters or B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy or equivalent is required.

  • CDRS designation and/or experience in the driver rehabilitation and vehicle modification field are preferred.

  • A valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle is required.

  • The ability to work independently within a community setting is required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are required.
